We explain basic human proportions and look at targeting your of type of art towards a specific audience, for example, chibi characters are usually proportioned 1:2; for comedy comic, cute, for kids, etc.
For teen Manga, proportions are usually 1:5 ~ 1:7; because the characters and general reader demographic are of very slimier age.

Micro-talk - Manga in the Kitchen
As most of us know, manga (Japanese comics), more so than Western comics, can cover virtually every subject, from science-fiction to all kind of sports to romance.
But that's not all: did you know that such well-known manga as Dragon Ball or Naruto have some of their characters named after popular food dishes? And they are not the only ones... You will learn about those 'hidden meanings' in your favourites and much more in “Manga in the Kitchen”-a delicacy of a micro-talk suited to the most demanding palates!
Presented by Alfons Moliné, a writer on comics, manga and animation for more than 20 years and author of the Spanish Manga history, "El Gran Libro de los Manga" (The Big Book of Manga) and contributor to the book "1001 Comics you Must Read Before you Die",
Saturday in Brunels old station venue - 12pm.
